High Hill

High Hill is fourteen miles southwest of La Grange in southwestern Fayette County. Around the late 1840s German immigrants established three small settlements, Wursten, Blum Hill and Oldenburg, and High Hill eventually grew out of them.

According to a local history, when ice cold Budweiser arrived in nearby Schulenberg, it became more popular than the "headache beer" of High Hill.
